As part of the 2025 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference ("Event"), the American Society of Travel Advisors ("ASTA") is hosting a social media contest ("Contest") open to all travel advisors that are registered for and attend the Event.
Two winners will be selected; each will receive one (1) free registration to attend the 2026 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference in San Diego, California, May 27-29, 2026.
The Contest encourages entrants to post on social media about their experience attending the 2025 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing any element of their experience with the Conference’s educational offerings, networking activities and evening events, or stay at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City.
Eligible social media platforms for the Contest are the following: Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Posts must be the entrant's own original content. Posts which share a link to a media/news source, or use another individual’s original or copyrighted content, will not be eligible to win. Trending audio, music, special effects, emojis, GIFs and artwork available to users on a social media platform are acceptable to incorporate in the entrant’s post.
1. Share a photo, video, Reel or TikTok video on a personal or professional social media account (the post must be set to Public and not Private) showing your experience at the 2025 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference and/or any of its related activities.
2. Include the hashtags #tac2025 and #tac2025contest in your post. Posts that do not include both hashtags will not be eligible to win.
3. Tag ASTA in your post, where applicable. On Facebook, type @astatraveladvisors into your post or reel caption to tag the ASTA - American Society of Travel Advisors page. On Instagram, tag @astatraveladvisors in the post or reel caption or apply the tag directly to your image or reel. Posts that do not tag ASTA will not be eligible to win. No tag is necessary on TikTok, as ASTA does not currently maintain a TikTok account.
The Contest is active from May 18, 2025 through June 1, 2025. ASTA staff will review all eligible entries to determine the winner in each of the categories described below.
The Contest includes two categories:
1. Most Liked Social Post
The public post with the most likes/reactions on any of the Contest's eligible social platforms. This includes any combination of the Thumbs Up, Love, Haha and Wow reactions to a single post. The number of Shares a post may receive is not considered in this instance.
2. Judges' Pick – Best Reel or TikTok
The public Reel (Facebook/Instagram) or TikTok video selected by a panel of ASTA judges for its excellence in creativity and imagination. There is no minimum or maximum time length, video editing style or theme, or reaction count, for the Reel or TikTok video to be eligible.
1. Eligibility
Contest is open to all registered travel advisor attendees of the 2025 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference. ASTA employees and immediate family members of ASTA employees are not eligible to win. Entrant does not need to be an active ASTA member but must be a registered and fully paid attendee of the Event. The Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
2. Contest Prize
The prize ("Prize") is one (1) free registration to the 2026 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference . The registration is non-transferable to any other individual and no request for its cash equivalent will be accommodated. Any and all costs associated with the Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner, including but not limited to any applicable taxes. If the winner has already registered for the 2026 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference, ASTA will refund the registration fee paid and maintain the registration.
3. Selection of Winners
One winner in each of the two categories will be selected. An individual may only win in one category.
4. Contacting the Winner
The winner will be contacted by an ASTA staff member at the email address used to register for the 2025 ASTA Travel Advisor Conference. Subsequent attempts to contact the winner may also be made via Facebook, Instagram or TikTok direct messages. If the winner cannot be contacted within 14 days from the time the Prize notification was originally sent via email, the Prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected.
5. Announcement/Promotion of Contest Winners
Winner, by acceptance of the Prize, grants ASTA their express permission and consent to publicize the winner's name, social media username/handle, affiliation (if any) and winning post for use in advertising, marketing and/or any other purpose, in any media or format now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, without limitation.
6. Winner Requirements
Except where prohibited by law, the winner will be required to complete and return an affidavit of cooperation and execute a liability waiver and publicity release either within ten (10) days of notification or at any later time upon request by ASTA.
7. Governing Law; Venue
These rules shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the courts of which shall have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over all controversies arising out of, or relating to, the Contest.
By participating in the Contest and submitting an entry, an entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to (i) be bound by and accept all terms and conditions, and (ii) irrevocably release, discharge and waive any and all claims, actions and causes of action against, and hold harmless from any of the foregoing, the American Society of Travel Advisors, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or any other person or entity associated with the Contest, and their respective officers, directors, and employees (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties"), for any injury, damage, liability, loss, cost or expense that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the participation in the Contest or from the receipt or use of the Prize or any activity related to the receipt or use of any Prize. As a condition of entry, you further represent and warrant that any social media post made by you in connection with this Contest, i.e., any post containing both of the aforementioned hashtags, does not and shall not infringe upon any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right of any third party.
By entering the Contest, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Indemnified Parties from and against any suit, proceeding, claim, liability, loss, damage, costs or expense (including legal fees and expenses, including those incurred to enforce this provision), including but not limited to any third-party claims of infringement of any copyright or other intellectual property right relating to any submission made in connection with the Contest, which the Indemnified Parties may incur, suffer, or be required to pay arising out of your acts or omissions relating to the Prize or your actions on or with respect to the Contest’s eligible social media platforms.
