Release 31

Alexandria, VA., Oct. 10, 2006 – THETRADESHOW (Travel Retailing and Destination Expo) partners released today comments about THETRADESHOW’s debut from several attendees representing major travel organizations. Attendees provided feedback about their experience at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Sept. 10-12, where more than 4,900 people gathered for one-on-one business appointments, travel seminars, exhibits and to meet client prospects at Consumer Day.

“We commend all responsible for the first THETRADESHOW event for taking steps to respond to today’s industry changes by ushering in a new era of industry meetings,” said Chris Kroeger, senior vice president, North America, Sabre Travel Network.  “We used THETRADESHOW as an opportunity to showcase the Sabre portfolio of products designed to help leisure agents continue to transform their businesses and capitalize on new sources of revenues, as well as tools to strengthen customer relationships and help them operate more efficiently. THETRADESHOW enabled us to spend quality time with our agency and supplier partners identifying ways to build upon an efficient marketplace."

Chad Meyerson of JetBlue wrote, “I really enjoyed the event and it was great exposure for JetBlue.  Overall, I was very impressed.  The fact that this was the first show makes it all the more impressive.  The layout was great and the atmosphere was great."

Another attendee said of THETRADESHOW: “The seminars [were] excellent. I have attended Turning your Web site into your Highest Producing Sales Person; It’s About Time You Developed THAT Niche; and Understanding Group— these three seminars have made the whole trips worth it. Wonderful!

The success of THETRADESHOW was best summed up by Chris Russo of The Travel Junction in Denver when he said, “THETRADESHOW was awesome!”

THETRADESHOW took place Sept. 10-12, 2006 in Orlando and will take place the second week of September every year; even years in Orlando and odd years in Las Vegas (Sept. 9-11, 2007). Formed from the partnership of the leading travel associations, THETRADESHOW included two full days of open floor trade show, business-to-business appointments, a trade and consumer day (Sunday) and two trade only days (Monday and Tuesday). Travel sellers had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and gain in-depth information about their products.

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA), Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), Adventures in Travel Expo (ATE), International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA), ITB Berlin, Performance Media Group, LLC (Agent@Home, Cruise & Vacation Agent and Modern Agent), Travel Trade, Travel Weekly, eturboNews, JaxFax, Recommend, Canadian Travel Press, TravelAge West, National Association of Commissioned Travel Agents (NACTA), National Tour Association (NTA), Travel Industry Association of America (TIA), The Travel Institute, U.S. Tour Operators Association (USTOA) and USA Today were partners of THETRADESHOW 2006.
