Alexandria, Va., July 12, 2005 —
The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced today that the
United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) has signed on as a Strategic
Partner with THETRADESHOW (Travel Retailing
and Destination Expo) and in presenting the 2006 event which will be held
Sept. 10-13, 2006, in Orlando.
“We’re really excited to have USTOA join
ASTA as a strategic partner with THETRADESHOW,” said ASTA President
and CEO Kathryn W. Sudeikis, CTC. “Linking travel agents with tour
operators is always a benefit to the traveling consumer, and what better
place to do that then at THETRADESHOW. We welcome their participation.”
Bob Whitley, USTOA president, said, “The concept
of THETRADESHOW is a good one, and USTOA
looks forward to working with all the Strategic Partners to make it a
success.”
As a strategic partner, USTOA will be involved in all
aspects of the show from overall design to speakers and education.
At THETRADESHOW, travel
sellers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and
to learn in-depth about their products. THETRADESHOW
will be a 3-day trade show featuring travel suppliers from all over the
world, representing every segment of the travel industry. Starting in
2006, the event will take place the second week of September every year
and will be held in Orlando in even years and Las Vegas in odd years.
