Alexandria, Va., Sept. 6, 2006 – All National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) attending THETRADESHOW(Travel Retailing and Destination Expo) are invited to join the Jordan Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, H.E. Munir Nassar, the CEO of South African Tourism, Moeketsi Mosola, and the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) to the first annual international forum to discuss issues and developments facing destinations today. The forum will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8:30 a.m. and will address the specific needs of NTOs and the issues concerning working with tour operators, media and travel agents in today’s world.

NTOs will discuss and provide tips on how to deal with topics such as: how tourism organizations can encourage travel agents to promote their various niche markets; how to win over tour operators who promise to visit a destination but never do; low price vs. quality in the Caribbean region and the difference between standards of the European and the North American traveler to the Caribbean region and Mexico; and which trade shows tour operators get the most out of and why. THETRADESHOW will take place the second week of September every year and will be held in Orlando (Sept. 10-12, 2006) in even years and Las Vegas (Sept. 9-11, 2007) in odd years. THETRADESHOW will host more than 2,000 travel sellers and 1,000 consumers in just three days at one site. Formed from the partnership of the leading travel associations, THETRADESHOW will include two full days of open floor trade show, business-to-business appointments, a trade and consumer day (Sunday) and two trade only days (Monday and Tuesday). Travel sellers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and to learn in-depth about their products.
