Host Agency Panel, Sunday 2:00p.m.-3:30pm, presented by host agency representatives. Successful host agency representatives will share the do''s and the don''ts of managing and prospering as a hosting travel agency for independent home based agents. The panelists represent various types of host agencies such as full service hosts, franchise hosts, and technology focused host agencies. Home based agencies looking for a host agency should attend to learn what services that host agencies can provide.

Understanding Active & Adventure Travel: A 100 Billion Dollar Specialty Market
Sunday 9:00a.m.-10:30a.m., presented by Costas Christ, President of Adventure Council, Contributing Editor and Columnist, National Geographic Adventure magazine and Richard Weiss, Principal, Richard R Wiess Associates. Learn about one of the fastest growing segments of the global tourism industry. In the US alone, $115 billion dollars are spent annually on adventure travel. In the past year, 55 million Americans took an active or adventure vacation - up 14 percent from the previous year. This session will provide agents with an overview of Adventure Travel today, including how to capture more of this market. A growing interest in adventure travel certification programs for travel agents will also be discussed.
THETRADESHOW will take place the second week of September every year and will be held in Orlando (Sept. 10-12, 2006) in even years and Las Vegas (Sept. 9-11, 2007) in odd years. THETRADESHOW will host more than 2,000 travel sellers and 1,000 consumers in just three days at one site. Formed from the partnership of the leading travel associations, THETRADESHOW will include two full days of open floor trade show, business-to-business appointments, a trade and consumer day (Sunday) and two trade only days (Monday and Tuesday). Travel sellers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and to learn in-depth about their products.
