Release 21
Alexandria, Va., July 10, 2006 – THETRADESHOW (Travel Retailing and Destination Expo) partners are pleased to announce European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) has signed on as a strategic partner at THETRADESHOW in Orlando, Sept. 10-12, 2006. ETOA works to inform its members of the business issues that affect their profitability, and provide networking opportunities with others in the industry.
“Partnering with ETOA will give more travel professionals in Europe an opportunity to hear and attend the upcoming Expo,” said William A. Maloney, CTC, ASTA executive vice-president and COO. “ETOA lobbies on a variety of European travel-related causes and their presence at THETRADESHOW will give more insight into the latest travel news in Europe.”
THETRADESHOW is the first of its kind and it will give travel agents and suppliers from around the world a unique chance to meet in one central location. As a strategic partner, ETOA will be involved in the development of THETRADESHOW, including the overall design, speakers and education.
“America is (and remains) the principal market for Europe in the world,” said executive director of ETOA, Tom Jenkins. “Europe continues to be the primary long-haul destination for America. This unique relationship will only continue to thrive if companies talk to one another. ETOA is thrilled to be involved with networking at THETRADESHOW at this early stage.”
THETRADESHOW will take place the second week of September every year and will be held in Orlando (Sept. 10-12 2006) in even years and Las Vegas (Sept. 9-11, 2007) in odd years. Travel sellers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and to learn in-depth about their products. The three-day, industry-wide event will have two travel industry-only days and will feature a day of one-on-one business appointments. Additionally, one day will be designated for consumers, where both travel sellers and suppliers will have the opportunity to educate the consumer on their businesses and the best way to choose and organize their travel arrangements.
The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA), Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), Adventures in Travel Expo (ATE), International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA), ITB Berlin, Performance Media Group, LLC (Agent@Home, Cruise & Vacation Agent and Modern Agent), Travel Trade, Travel Weekly, eturboNews, JaxFax, Recommend, Canadian Travel Press, TravelAge West, National Association of Commissioned Travel Agents (NACTA), National Tour Association (NTA), Travel Industry Association of America (TIA), The Travel Institute, U.S. Tour Operators Association (USTOA) and USA Today have signed on as partners of THETRADESHOW.
