Alexandria, Va., Aug. 13 , 2007 –This year THETRADESHOW (Sept. 9-11, Las Vegas) will feature a variety of technology seminars designed especially for the travel agent/agency at the Technology Pavilion located on THETRADESHOW floor. Technology seminars are offered each day of the THETRADESHOW. These seminars will cover everything from how to operate presentation and spreadsheet computer programs to how to build a Web site from scratch.
“Technology seminars provide an excellent opportunity for agents to learn about a variety of essential computer and Web site building programs in one place. This knowledge will serve them well after THETRADESHOW helping them to streamline their business operations,” says Bob Whitley, USTOA President.
Seminars focusing on technology education that have already been scheduled are:
EXCEL FUNdamental. Presented by Carol Fullmer. This seminar is for those who find it difficult to create spreadsheets. Agents will learn about formulas and how to use EXCEL functions like Autosum, AutoAverage and AutoFilter.
EXCEL-erate. Presented by Carol Fullmer. Agents will learn to kick it up a notch, have some fun and add to agent/agency productivity at the same time. Participants will explore auditing tools, learn to do more with data, make fabulous charts and cool looking reports and discover ways to impress clients while keeping it simple.
Front Page for the Travel Agent–Beginning. Presented by Dottie Sutherland. This seminar will include a demo of Front Page and an introduction on how to use Front Page to design and create a Web site. Agents will learn essentials like how a good Web site works, Web site dos and don’ts, and why certain sites attract more attention.
Front Page for the Travel Agent–Advanced. Presented by Dottie Sutherland. Participants should come ready to create their own Web sites as this seminar will cover everything from buying the domain name to posting on the Internet. Agents will learn how to create the very best Web site.
PowerPoint for Travel Agents - Beginning. Presented by Dottie Sutherland. This seminar includes a demo of PowerPoint and an introduction on how to use PowerPoint to create presentations that will increase productivity. Agents will learn the value of PowerPoint and the PowerPoint dos and don’ts.
PowerPoint for Travel Agents - Advanced. Presented by Dottie Sutherland. This seminar will walk each participant through the steps of creating a PowerPoint presentation. Agents will learn how to quickly create a PowerPoint “shell,” and how to add text, graphics and images.
IMAGE-ination. Presented by Carol Fullmer. Agents will learn how to add “wow” to their businesses with quick and easy Digital Image Management of photos and logos. Agents will learn how to organize, edit and enhance digital photos. They will learn to add photos and graphics to documents with ease and learn simple ways to share photos or those of clients on Web sites, newsletters and blogs. Participants will also learn how to use client photos to produce a CD movie with MovieMaker magic.
